Anchorage, Alaska: Korean American Community of Anchorage, Inc. (KACA) will be hosting a free outdoor family event on June 26, 2021, in partnership with many organizations from the community.

This event is not only to celebrate the 14th Korea-Alaska Friendship Day proclaimed by former Governor Sarah Palin in commemoration of the reinstallment of the Korean Consular Office in Anchorage and deepening economic ties between Korea and Alaska but to celebrate Alaskans’ resilience and triumph over the COVID challenges. Those challenges included racial divides as well as personal tragedies.

This multicultural event is to reconnect with friends, meet new people, build each other up in unity, celebrate the diversity of each other’s cultures while strengthening the relationships among Alaskan Communities.

The Festival will take place on June 26, 2021 (Sat), 11:30 – 3:00 pm in the Dimond Mall East Parking lot.

This event is free admission to all ages! There will be a variety of activities: entertainment, face painting, Korean calligraphy, multicultural fun games, martial arts, sports competition, a Fire Truck show, dance contest, trivia quiz about Korea and Alaska, K-9 shows, a lottery draw for prizes every 10 minutes, and much more!

Cultural Performances include traditional dancing and music, Taekwondo, and a choir. There will be many types of ethnic food as well as American. If anyone is in need of a vaccine, there will an information booth with the vaccine available for the public inside the Mall.
