2017 Korea-Alaska Friendship Day Festival at South Anchorage High School

2017 Korea-Alaska Friendship Day Festival held  June 24th, 2017 at 11AM at South Anchorage High School

The ceremony began with an invocation by Reverend Yong Kuk Chong, current President of the Alaska Korean Pastors’ Association.

Over 200 guests attended with distinguished guests from city, state, Korean War Veterans Association, FNBA, JBEAR, and the federal government joined us in this celebration of the flourishing Korea-Alaska friendship.

Distinguished guests included but not limited to: Senator Dan Sullivan, Greg Kaplan from the Office of Senator Murkowski, Grace Janj from the Governor’s Office, Amy Coffman from the Mayor’s Office, 2017 Miss Teen Alaska Emma Broyles, Deputy Consul General Kwon, and the current President of the Korean American Community Kyu Jae Choi.

The festival included guest performances and a luncheon of authentic Korean food.

Performances included Classical Voice from New York and NANTA group from South Korea.
